How ExCeL Deliveries Work
For build-up and breakdown, ExCeL’s Vehicle Management System (run by Voyage Control) opens 21 days before an event. Each booking carries the vehicle registration, vehicle type, driver and stand location. On the day, vehicles come in along Royal Albert Way and Sandstone Lane into the traffic marshalling area and wait to be called forward.
Unloading times depend on the vehicle: about 30 minutes for small vehicles, an hour for vans up to 12 tonnes, and an hour and a half for 17 tonne, 25 tonne and articulated trucks. Drivers should arrive no more than 15 minutes before the slot, and a 23:00 to 05:00 curfew applies. Source: the ExCeL vehicle booking manual. Rules can change by event, so we always check your show’s own manual.

Close to the Royal Docks
Our base in Leyton, E10 is a short run from the Royal Docks, so early slots and last-minute replacements are easier to make.

ExCeL Delivery FAQs
Do I need to book a vehicle slot at ExCeL?
For build-up and breakdown, yes: vehicles book through ExCeL's vehicle booking system, which opens 21 days before the event. Couriers bringing small items report to the traffic office on arrival instead. We handle the booking for you.
How long can a vehicle stay to unload?
It depends on the vehicle. ExCeL's manual gives about 30 minutes for small vehicles, an hour for vans up to 12 tonnes and an hour and a half for larger trucks. Your booking confirms the exact time.
What happens if a slot is missed?
ExCeL asks vehicles to still come to site, but waiting times can be longer. We plan the run to arrive on time and keep you updated if traffic changes things.
Can you deliver during the show?
Yes. Deliveries to the event space during open days also need an access time, which we book.
